Colorado Fly Fishing Pictures from my first guided fishing trip April 30, 2005 to North Fork Ranch near Bailey, CO. The ranch is about an hour from the metro Denver Area.

My first fish of day. A 22 to 24 inch 4 pound rainbow. Caught along side the fast run in picture.
Guide is Greg Cunningham who popularized the Greg's emerger fly developed by Bill Louthan of Alpine Angler Aurora, CO.
I was very lucky to meet Greg. He is a super guide, teacher and all around nice guy.
The results of the battle. A nice 24 inch -- 4 pound rainbow. Caught on my own beadhead flashback goldribbed hares ear #16. This is one of my favorite all around flies as it can imitate a caddis, a stonefly or a mayfly depending on how it is tied and fished.
The Biggest Fish of the Day
A 28 inch -- 8 pound rainbow on an orange San Juan worm. The biggest fish I have ever landed.
This a close up of my 8 pound rainbow. Notice the white spot by the top dorsal fin and on the head above the eye. On the back side of the fish a spot of quarter sized skin was missing down to the red meat. Greg said he thought an Osprey or a Heron had gotten hold of this fish. I thought a young eagle was another possibility
Greg took some time reviving this beauty before she swam off to hide.
Who says that Colorado does not have big fish?
