Xa Fly Rods with Rod Case

You are fishing your favorite stream with a new Allen Fly Fishing Xa 10 foot 3 wt fly rod. For most of the morning, there has been a good BWO hatch under a partially cloudy sky. Then the Golden Stones start to move and the fish turn off on dries and start chasing large stone fly nymphs. "I should have brought my 9 foot 5 wt rod to throw some number 6 stones." Not to worry Good Buddy. The Allen Xa Fly Rod is designed to handle nymphs, dries and streamers all in a day’s fishing. The Xa was designed with the backbone to handle those large weighted nymphs. Yet it retains the responsiveness for those delicate dry fly presentations. The medium-fast action is perfect for all around fishing conditions and it fits many angler’s casting stroke. With a blank constructed of aerospace quality carbon graphite fibers in a special blend, the Xa has a smooth load curve providing that delicate feel for those short accurate 20 foot casts. But it has the butt section strength to reach out for those long casts if needed or to land that unexpected large monster. The Xa Rod Series features

  1. A quality blank of high quality carbon graphite
  2. Titanium Plated Chromium Stripping Guides for salt water protection
  3. An internal ferrule design to provide a truer taper blank and a smooth action
  4. Titanium Snake guides for corrosion protection and smoother casting
  5. Attractive wooden reel seat on non-fighting butt models
  6. Anodized aluminum reel seat on fighting butt models. Fighting butt grips on rods from 6wt through 9 wt
  7. AAA quality cork handle
  8. Includes Rod Case

Editor Note: The 9ft 4wt Xa Fly Rod I cast at the Denver Fly Show was extremly smooth loading with a great casting feel. On 20 foot casts I was consistently dropping short overhand and roll casts into the practice ring. The line feel in the rod at this distance was of course excellent. Yet with 70 foot casts, I experienced the same positive line feel and control as at the short distance. Oh yes, the in-between casts were the same too. This is an excellent rod at a very reasonable price. I almost forgot. Allen Fly Fishing stands behind their products with a rock solid warranty.
