11-year-old catches an Arkansas whopper. Colorado, Alaska, New Zealand are not the only places to catch really big trout. This Arkansas Rainbow is an unofficial state record. I do mean big. This huge rainbow measured 31 inches with a 22 to 24 inch girth. The fish was taken on a catch and release stream so could not be weighed on a certified scale. But an Arkansas Game and Fish Commission trout biologist estimated the weight in the lower 20 pound area based on measurements and a photo. 
Is the fisherman who caught this Arkansas monster some veteran fly fisherman with decades of fishing experience. No he is eleven year old Levi Lenard. Levi has made of habit of catching big fish. At nine, he caught a 30 pound catfish and a 16 pound permit. This young man is on his way to being a professional big fish catcher.
