Colorado Snow Pack Report 1-4-09

January 4th, 2009 · 1 Comment

1/4

Colorado’s snow pack is cautiously looking pretty good. With the average peak months in April and May, we may have a good water year.  Meaning fly fishing should be good.  For the individual rivers in each basin.

Basin  % of Average  Avg Inches
 Gunnison Basin  126  51
Upper Colorado River Basin  123  49
South Platte River Basin  86  35
Larmie and North Platte River Basins  91  36
Yampa and White River Basins  96  39
 Arkansas River Basin  134  56
Upper Rio Grande Basin  138  60
San Miguel, Delores, Animas, San Juan River Basins  134  57

Looks like we should have a great year of fishing coming up given the snow pack as it is. I’m really excited because Colorado is one of my favorite places to get some great fly fishing in. Thanks for the update!
