Reports are snow falls in the range of 30 to 40 inches above 8,000 feet. This additional snow fall has been heavy in the South Platte River Basin and in the South West Basins per the 4/18/09 Colorado Sno-Tel report.

The biggest changes are shown in Red. The San Miguel Basin dropped 42% in 4 months at 4/14/09 but has recovered nicely. Other Basins have held steady as of 4/18/09 execept the South Platte Basin which has experience a 17% increase due to the Colorado Blizzard of 2009. Metro Denver gets much of its water from the South Platte basin so this is a welcome increase.
All this extra snow will extend the ski season making the skiers and resorts happy campers too. The extra water will make for good fishing too.
