Fly Fishing Colorado

In fly fishing, midges are fly patterns representing different phases of the real midge insect. Some of the real midges are a biting insect that leave an itchy rash. Enter science to measure how a midge selects its victim. (Either human or animal)   Turns out midges have over 500 sensory hairs on their antennae which are used to sample different chemicals. Tests done in Scotland measured the “midge attractiveness” of different chemicals produced by humans in their sweat. Yes some humans are more attractive to midges than others due to the chemicals they produce in their sweat.
