Thursday on Bear Creek was as good as Wednesday on the South Platte was bad. The Creek was running 66 CFS with semi-clear water. Bottom was visible to about 1 to 2 feet. Beyond 2 feet it was hard to see much even with the sun overhead.

Technical Fly Fishing

Clear Creek
Had to tie some hares ears before heading to Clear Creek so did not get started until 10 a.m.  Air temp 78 degrees at noon. CFS at 115, clarity excellent.  Could see bottom 2 feet deep at 15 feet away except in pools with moss on bottom. Fished with some friends from the Federation of [...]

Today was one just made for fly fishing.  Both light and air had that soft feel that an artist would love.  I had to get my fly fishing fix.  Off to my favorite stream. Bear Creek is a nice friendly stream with cooperative trout. It is also a great place to test new fly patterns.

South Platte River
