Fly Fishing Colorado

Water was warm and low at 17.5 CFS.  Almost to the point where I won’t fish the Creek.  Water clarity was excellent with bottom visible to 3 feet in most pools.  Fair amount of moss on bottom of pools and runs.  This is typical of Bear Creek in August and September.

If you hold a Colorado Annual Fishing License, the license period has been extended to 3/31/2009.  The Habitat Stamp period has also been extended to 3/31/2009.
Starting 4/1/2009, the fishing season  will run from 4/1 through 3/31 the next year.  (Ex. 4/1/2009 - 3/31/2010)

Fishing has been hot. Spinny on fire.  Dream stream high but fishing well. Deckers closed due to fire.  Probably back open soon.  Smaller creeks running clear and fishing well.  Some are actually starting to get a bit warm.

The Salmon Flies are out on the Colorado River per information from Trapper Rudd and Cutthroat Anglers in Silverthorne, Colorado.  Salmon Fly hatches attract lots of fish and big fish.  The Colorado River produces some big fish.
