High Plains Drifters Kids Day June 2009

The Kids Day Event is for kids 5 through 14 years of age to learn about fly fishing.  Events include

  • Special Presentation by expert guide Pat Dorsey of the Blue Quill Angler
  • Fish Identification
  • Stream Entomology and Insect Identification
  • Fly Tying
  • Practice Casting Lessons
  • Fishing at Lake Lehoe
  • The most important part. Lunch

The event will be held June 20th at Kassler Education Center located at the end of South Wadsworth Blvd in the old town of Waterton. Take the Wadsworth exit off C470 and go south until you reach the fork to Martin-Lockheed. Take the left road and follow it to the parking lot for the entrance to Waterton Canyon. The Kassler Education Center is directly across the road. There will be a large banner outside to help you find the building.

The event is limited to 50 children. Parents or a Legal Guardian MUST ACCOMPANY each child enrolled in the program. No children will be accepted without a parent or legal guardian being with them.

Applications including the $15.00 enrollment fee and the liability release must be returned to the Event Coordinator listed in the application no later than May 31, 2009.

Save to your desktop.)  Print out the enrollment and liability release forms, complete them and mail as instructed in the form with the $15.00 enrollment fee.Call the events coordinator if you have questions.

Last years Kids Day was a rousing success with about 40 children participating. Most children caught their first fish on a fly rod. It was a great time and we want to make Kids Day 2009 a bigger success.
